Meet Lisa, Your Legal Writing Trainer & Coach

I am a writer. I have written many documents, including legal briefs, legal motions, legal memos, opinion letters, compliance trainings, articles, and speeches.

I am also a teacher and coach. As a legal writing professor, I taught law students by the hundreds. Now a trainer and coach, I work with practicing attorneys on realizing their full potential as legal writers.

I have devoted my career to training practicing attorneys, law students, and business professionals how to more clearly and effectively communicate. I deliver customized legal writing workshops to large, midsize, small, and boutique law firms and departments within firms. I provide business writing workshops to corporations. I coach individual practicing attorneys on their writing and have taught nearly 1,000 law students legal writing when teaching the legal communication classes at the University of San Diego, Northwestern University, and DePaul University law schools. Before becoming a legal writing professor and coach, I was a litigation attorney at McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago and law clerk to a federal district court judge. I graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan and cum laude from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and was admitted to the Illinois bar.
